6-pack of Grolsch to kick off Xmas Eve, then some sashimi, sushi, seaweed, pickled octopus etc from Sushi Sushi for dinner. Daughter loves the Peking Duck hand rolls. Sushi Sushi just opened and they are killing the other Japanese style places freshness, quality, and range will do that every time. Wish I had a franchise anyway Merry Xmas to you all at BITOG...s

was gonna post something similar.

Work gave us Christmas eve arv off, and surprisingly, nothing karked it this arvo.

Picked up the pork rack roast, duck, and prawns from the butcher (bye bye $100), bought some ice on the way home.

Fixed a split washer on the shower (split 15 minutes after the hardware stores closed)...Nigella on the tele, and so-long to one of the biggest work years that my colleagues and I have seen (Next year is scheduled to be a doozie).

Cheers BITOG.

Coopers Sparkling ale here (and some Carlton cold fusion (lime)) to refresh the pallette at some point

I'll have Christmas before anyone here - I'll let you know how it went when you are still on Xmas Eve.

Went to work today and finished up at 2.00pm....cleaned the workshop floor and then had the end of year [censored].Had a couple of beers, but a few more Woodies than that - we get plenty of free beer all year,Woodies are more of a treat.Words of praise and handshakes from the bosses, but only a sampler box of bickies this year.I was really impressed last year when after only 2 weeks of employment I got a bottle of wine and a card with $100 tucked inside.Tough times in car dealerships....and the bonus is a good clue.

So that ends my first year of employment since 1995....and now I get to have holidays paid for by my employer.Good to be on this side of the fence for a change.

We have our 2 year old granddaughter staying for Xmas....is gunna be good!

I got off work tonight @ 12 midnight, tomorrow I finish up Christmas shopping and pick up some Killian's Red

Worked up until 3:30 or so and said that's enough.
Hadn't had lunch by then either.
I emerged from under the house about an hour ago after repairing a dodgy hot water connection.
12" of crawl space, nice and muddy and I had to braze some fittings up.....

There's some Boags Premium in the fridge and I just don't feel like it ATM.

That sounds really good. I think I'm going to pick some up on the way home today. I love Coopers! I only drink it once in a blue moon, because it's expensive here in the USA. I paid $11 for a 6 pack back during the summer. Most other "premium" beers go for around $8-9 for a 6 pack.

I'm also going to be sampling me homemade wine in the next few days. It's not due to be finished until 1/3/09, but it's not going to hurt anything to dip into it a little early.

A little early in the morning for that, no? Well, I guess it's 5:00 somewhere.

It's nearly worth paying you to ship it here.

$16/6 pack, or $48 per case (24)down here. ($Oz)

Darnit. I forgot to pick up some Coopers! Oh well, for New Year's I'll pick up some. Shannow, you guys get ripped off for booze down under.

A lot of it's tax.

$40(ish) per litre of ethanol over 1.5%, means that $15 of a case is excise. Then throw a 10% GST on the end...nearly $20 of the $47 is tax.

Spirits are taxed at $60 per litre of ethanol in the finished product (plus 10% GST), so are over half tax.

Premixed spirits/coke are running over $3/can due to new taxes.

Yea, Ft. Collins has a ton of great brewing companies. I really like Newbelgium brewing. Sunshine wheat is one of my favorites. Odell makes some good ones as well.

I'll have to try something from Ft. Collins brewing TNS!

I'm enjoying a nice cup of hot spiced cider with just a "little" (

) Sailor Jerry spiced rum.

By the way, never go Christmas shopping on Christmas eve when you haven't even bought one gift yet. Wheeeeeeeeeeeew

My 2nd Amazon order hasn't arrived yet (the first one was wrong), so I canceled and joined the Christmas eve rat race shopping spree today.
