Xfinity removed TCM from HD preferred!

ARCO - Yes, we have the latest (as of around Dec 2018) Roku Ultra player, in addition to the other 4 older ones in the house. We never bought a "stick" even though they are also well reviewed.
WIth each new version came faster processor power (as with all things) too. We actually have a 6th player that we dont use (wife just told me) but soon that 6th will most likely replace an even older one. I think I just read someplace that soon the older players without an HDMI will no longer work just because of the hardware inside, doubt many have them, that was a long time ago and wife told me that might have been our first and the one we will replace with the one we dont use.

I cant comment on the app or ear plugs, haven't used them.
I was also into audio (higher end value stuff, (NAD, Onkyo, Sony ES tuner, Akai tape and linear turntable, grado cartridge) have ringing in my ears but unrelated I think, but dont think I am tone deaf above 6khz, then again, many older people are, so maybe I am!

The point being alarmguy is that Comcast has a propriety system for VOIP-that's a fact.

That's not how Comcast implements their VOIP product. It doesn't run through the internet connection. Rather, they use one or two of the "channels"* on the coax signal. The internet service is using different, dedicated "channels", and the TV uses the rest.

To say there are not issues-with a magic jack or Ooma is simply not true. [/b] One can get either device to work-with some tinkering. But in many cases they are not "plug and play".

^^^ maybe when or if the OP tries Ooma he will get back to this thread ^^

Also I never made any mention of magic jack, Ooma delivers the equal quality or better of any "landine" system.
Anyone can have an issue with a internet device but I doubt anyone will see the fantastic percent of positive reviews on any product as they do with Ooma, posted in my links above from Best Buy and Amazon.
But forget that, my own personal experiance.

So if the OP is interested, doesn't make sense he doesn't try, if it didn't work, he could simply return it, like any product which odds are greatly in his favor that it will be just fine.

Just read that i can with the upper tier service for free.

It just that I have about 7 companies that have my landline.

I suppose I could make changes online in one afternoon Internet "session"

Now that I think more about it I don't care about the landline anymore since its not really a landline!

I just like using a handset on long calls vs the cell. Maybe there is an other alternative here.

Yep-called 'earbuds" for your phone.

I'm always pulling then put with my hands . Maybe I have them on backwards.

Plus you have cell compression and garble issues from time to time.

I don't use the phone as much since my Parents have passed.

Getting into some minor texting instead with friends ....but no FarceBook.

Remember that 60's style hand- set that you could use with a ipad Tablet when they first came out?

I'm going to check if something like that is made for a Microsoft phone.
