Run this oil 6-8,000 miles, not saying the name yet,i have it in
one of my GM cars doing a test run with a fleetgaurd(syn)filter. , no it's not M1.

claims the oil 5w30 is 100% Ester synthetic;

SUS VISCOSITY: 62.3
FLASHPOINT: 390
TBN: 6.9

Flashpoint and TBN are too low to run more than 5k miles, specially if the oil sump is less than 5 quarts.

If it has good TBN retention, nothing wrong with 6.9 for a starting TBN, especially in a gasoline engine.

So, when you going to tell us what this 100% ester synthetic is?

I would want to pull a sample at 4-5K just to check to see what it looked like.

I do 7,500 miles with M1 in my GM cars. If a 100% Synthetic can't do 6,000-8,000 miles, then it is a VERY POOR synthetic oil !

If SM rated dino is good for 6-8K miles, then an oil that 'claims the oil 5w30 is 100% Ester synthetic' will have no problem.

yea true, but like HTSS_TR said the FP and TBN are lower then i'd like.

...but also as Johnny said, you won't know what the TBN retention is like so an abstract number isn't too telling. You should run it and find out!
The FP is a little suspect. I wonder what constituent in the oil is evaporating and combusting in the test? What was the method used?

I bet most VW 504 approved oils have the same numbers.

no,Black bottle, was a internet site sell'en at close out,allot of BITOG members bought some i think. year or two ago.
