I am going to confirm it with an oil analysis.
But, would you take 4 qts of Pennzoil Platinum 5w30, and a PureOne filter for 10K miles over 8 months, in an 02 four cylinder Camry 2AZFE? Mostly country road travel at 40 - 60 MPH. No stop and go. Factory manual spec for NORMAL service is 7.5K. I figure with sync and a good filter with silicone ADBV I can push for another 33%. What do you think?

Is this Pennz. Platinum? From what I've gathered and seen at the used oil analysis section, it's pretty good stuff. On both Accords, I pretty much use Mobil 1 Extended Performance and take them out to about 12 to 13K. Same driving style and not much further from where your at. I also use PureOnes. My used oil analysis came back within tolerances and the manual also calls for 7.5K OCI's. I'd say you could run it out to at least 12K with this stuff without even as much as a worry.

Not on 4 quarts no. I wouldn't even go 5K miles on 4 quarts.

I ran oilbabe's 2002 Camry on Mobil 1 Extended Performance for 15K miles. Same engine 2AZ-FE

Of course, that was 6 months worth of driving.

No drama, no sludge, now at 174K miles on the car.

FWIW, I think it has done 45K or 60K of it's 174K on extended drain synthetic oil.

I'm now doing conventional only because it's consuming a quart every 2500 miles.

Yes you can achieve an additional 33% using synthetics over conventional - as long as your engine is not overly dirty & dilution is eityher non-existent - or very-very low.

So if you desire another 33% - to push it out to 10K intervals - that means you were previously doing around 7K OCIs with dino?.... am I correct here?

How many 7K dino OCIs are we talking about? If it's several, your engine should be Auto-Rx'd before switching.

I have done 5K - 7.5K Pennzoil Platinum OCIs previsously with P1 filter. Just looking to cut down the number of OCs.
