Would you buy a car that was reportedly broken into?

The big question is "HOW?" was it broken into.
Typically these days - the door is pried at the top, and then something is reached in to activate the locks.
That can be done with no damage, but if done by a thief, usually the door frame is bent outward, until an arm can fit in.
So an inspection of where the window track / upper portion of the door meets the rest of the door, may reveal damage.

I did once. A 1993 Lincoln mark viii with 19k miles for 19k dollars; Dealer said someone broke the passenger window to take the radio. Carpet was damp, radio gone, window smashed. All appeared to add up. They said they would fix it all. So I bit.

Ended up being a flood car as problems started to appear in the first few weeks on the road. Nice driving and super-fast "luxo-mustang with a trunk" though! ... sigh.

And this was a the biggest NH Ford Dealer in Portsmouth.

Beware the Annex used car lot a couple miles up the road !

Nope. Two strikes against it already.

When my first Impala was stolen, I was glad the insurance totaled it when they got what was left. Even if it was repairable, I didn't want it so they saved me the hassle of selling the thing.
