Saw these again tonight.thiers like 5-6 quarts sitting thier. It's a conventional.sunoco has them listed as conventional multi viscosity oils.
How would these hold up too hard stop n go traffic,97 degree F humid summers? 6 months under 3000 miles? Might the summer thin/sheer this conventional 10w30?parked outside?

Practically any oil is going to survive an under 3000 mile usage. I would worry more about your engine over heating in 97 degree temperatures.

Parking outside might push it over the edge....;)

Unless that oil has very poor VII then mechanical shear (not sheer) is highly dependent on the engine design. "Stop n go" traffic doesn't have anything to do with it, neither does summer humidity, nor being parked outside, nor the Group II base stock. Base stocks don't shear.

If you are referring to fuel dilution causing a viscosity deviation then it's not dependent on the oil either.

The 3.8l Buick motor is not considered to be hard on oil. The oil you're asking about would be very similar to what it came from the factory with except with improved additive technology so I would not hesitate to use it. Is it the best? No, but it isn't going to hurt it in any way.

Wow.what was the factory oil ? Ac Delco dino? Synth blend? Synthetic? Would it have been Mobil making the oil,put ac Delco name on?
I only really liked the Sunoco oil, because I sa made in USA on back.love that stuff!think grams oils say that too.made in USA...not made in USA from foreign and domestic stuff
I'm n past, times I used dino oil, after 4 months and about 1700 miles it was thick black n shot. 5-7 miles trust one way then same back hours later.dino was just. Yucky looking then.

I highly, highly doubt a 1998 Lesabre was delivered with synthetic oil. Only Corvettes and high performance specially models would have gotten synthetic way back then. A Lesabre would have been delivered with conventional 10w-30 GM Goodwrench oil that was bottled by a 3rd party manufacturer to GM specs.

Found this chart.true? Synthetics leave more deposits?

if you want 10w30 motor oil aren’t these some decent and available 1qt options that are cheaper than $5.99 sunoco?
