Dan Marino really did choke in big games, but
he's still my boy.

Cheers,

gosh, it seems like the list is kind of short.

"my favorite hidey-holes" - saddam hussein
"pain killers i didn't take" - brett favre
"books i done read" - george w. bush
"dress for success" - george clinton (p-funk)
"managing heroin" - kurt cobain
"ugly halter tops" - bill clinton

plus the old favorites (not short books)
"under the bleachers" - seymour butts
"down the yellow river" - we-pi freely
"lawerance welk in china" - anna won, anna tu
"antlers in the treetops" - hugust amuse

i'll just apologize in advance...

Enjoyed the lists.

But, a reading of any military history directly or indirectly involving France and Frenchmen over the past 600 years will quickly disabuse one of the notion of cowardice as being some sort of French disease.

This is distinct from some truly bad decisions made by French political and military officials (from which we are in no way immune, either).

It is the long-term, not short, on which a military or the people supporting it should be judged.

One might also entitle a book on post-WWII American war-winning strategies as being exceedingly short.

How true you are, when I first went in the service an old Sarge said, "Remember that the US has not won a war since the war department became the defense department"

Bravo!

WWI ended with the signing of a surrender by Germany in France. WWII was ended by Germany and Japan signing surrenders in Germany and Japan.

I guess we should have just kept on going

Have some fun and put "French Military Victories in the Google search engine. For added fun put in "miserable failure" (I don't necessarily agree with this one).

Of course the War Department was allowed to concentrate on the enemy. The Defense Department hasn't done that badly against the enemy, but has been clobbered by the media.

What We Would Have without our men and women that have served would be a short book indeed.
