Not my home but my home will need this kind of stucco work after the roof is replaced. How can they safely work on my new roof doing the stucco work without nailing roof jacks into brand new shingles?

This is what the stucco people normally use.

when i was still doing metal roofing we would use a roof ladder, had hooks that would go over the peak. worked out well

Agree. Missing the kick out flashing which is probably why there's moisture damage on the wall next to the gutter.

I rarely see kick out flashing. Seems roofers just looking to save pennies on a bid.

As I said, it's not my house in the picture but a similar way the roof meets a stucco wall.

It will have a kick out of the roofer & stucco people feel it's needed.

But those nails stay in the shingle. The nails holding roof jacks get pulled out leaving a nail hole.
You could always have them sealed (mastic tape, silicone caulk, etc but guaranteed they will miss some holes!), but I get your concern. My barn has metal roofing, yet somehow there’s spots that are leaking and I’m gonna have to have the Amish rip the whole thing off and re-plywood (it’s currently OSB 🤮) and re-metal roof it before the leaks start rotting the rafters.

I say find a roofer who won’t use nailed platforms. You’re saving headaches down the road…

It's not the roofer but the stucco guy. Finding roofers is pretty easy. Finding a good stucco guy is a lot harder.

Typically once a jack is removed the nail is driven all the way down and a dab of tar should be placed over the nail head and the shingle laid back down. A good contractor will place his nails for the jack in a position on the shingle that isnt near a joint.
