Just another day slaving away in the yard. 6h15m worth, never stopped. Tree trimming. Chainsaws on very tall ladders. 25 cubic yard dumpster packed/compressed and fully loaded. Green waste was not "staged and ready", I was reshaping trees as I went. The sycamore trees were 18 inch tall volunteers my neighbor gave me when we first moved in. Look at the size of them now!

I landscaped this yard from scratch 17 years ago. It was a barren, dirt, sun scorched wasteland but has turned into a really nice park-like setting. I did it all myself, singlehandedly, including every single wheelbarrow load of DG, dry stack, trellis, turf, irrigation, etc. I even built the redwood tables and benches.

At age 68 this work has become a bit more tiresome, but I still enjoy doing it.

Gorgeous, all except the grass. I hate grass, cuz CA needs water and I have been cutting it since I was a little twirp.
I used to do tree work; it is hard but satisfying. Well done.

That's what my wife says. I used to take it for granted until recently, but I try and stay busy and keep moving. It's good for the mind as well.

It's a four row fence. 2x6 boards, 8 foot spacing.

Also, post holes are 3' deep and I set them in decomposed granite. Do not set posts in bare soil or concrete. Setting them in DG allows you to re-compact them or remove them if you wish.

Are the posts 5’ tall?

Yes, 5 feet sticking above ground. Final height adjust was with chainsaw. I seal the tops of the posts with black roofing mastic. 2x6 rails are on 15 inch centers. The rails are 16 footers and I alternated the cuts so they weren't all on the same post.

The posts I used are NLA in California. The posts I used were treated like wooden telephone poles; pressure treated with cosmoline IIRC. If you are going through all the trouble to build a new fence find a source of worthwhile posts, even if you have to order them from out of state. And fence rails are screwed in, not nailed.

I had to do a double take on the picture of the bin. I thought you put the trees inside the bin and got them to stand up and said to myself, "man this guys super strong in his 60s".
