If you like duty type footwear www.rockyboots.com has what you are looking for. I have a pair of rocky lightweight duty boots, they are a good investment. I wear the hiker tactical specialist. Click on a boot and they will have a few different heights and choices on many. They dont last forever. The comfort of a lightweight tactical boot, while great, uses materials so light that they arent of the heavy "built to last" construction of some other boots. But your feet will think you, as they lighter then the average pair of tennis shoes.

If you are doing anything heavier than lounging around, it is a lot smarter to find steel toes that fit well enough to be comfortable.

For the last couple of years I've been wearing Iron Age boots. I had Georgia's one time but they fell apart in about 3 months. My company pays for our boots and the only choices we have are Iron Age and Red Wing. I have to get the metatarsal boots and with all the steel slag and sparks flying we're allowed 2 pair a year.

I have a pair of Big Mac steel toe work shoes. They are the worst things to track mud in. The sole is almost smooth except for a grid of vertical sided groves. They ar nothing special as far as traction goes, but terrible to track mud.

I have only bought one pair of Lehighs in recent years. My wife works at Penney's. We pick up most of our clothes and shoes when they have special nights for employees with stuff dirt cheap. Not sure even that was a good deal on a pair of Caterpillar boots that were uncomfortable and fell apart too soon. Also bad luck with Dickie's.

Red Wings for me. A non insulated steel toe for summer and insulated steel toes for winter. I have no clue what model numbers - my Red Wing shoe store keeps records on my shoes for me, and always asks how my current pairs are working out. They may cost a bit, but with the usage I get out of them, I'll never complain...
