So My girlfriend calls me up the other day, and says "I had a blonde moment"

In short, she was out somewhere and her car started, she put it in drive, and stalled. Trying to start again, the car wouldn't even crank. She called AAA (I was 100 Miles away and at work) and the truck comes out.

The driver gets out, asks what the problem is, then looks in the car. He looks at her strangely, then:

sits down
puts the trans BACK IN PARK
starts the car with no problem.

My GF knows that you can't start the car out of park, as I've seen her rectify the problem before when it has happened with me in the car, but GAWD it must have been funny to see the look on the tow guy's face.

Who else has stories of those "Blonde" moments that either you or your Significant Other has had happen. You know, those ones where a Homer Simpson "D'oh!" is not even close to explaining it?

Just to even the field, in my corner I remember driving down the freeway and realizing my windshield was durty. So, I turn on the washer and realize, after I am soaked with ammonia, that my windows are down and that at 80 mph water comes straight in the car after it blows off the front...

Well, with a slighty more serious cause.....

My mother went to go somewhere. She came back in and said the car wouldn't start. I jumped it and said "drive it around the block" figuratively speaking so that it would get a decent charge. About 3 minutes later my mother returns and says "it still won't start". I go outside and sure nuff ..it won't start ...but it can't because it's in DRIVE. I put it in PARK ...no problem. (son scratching head while attributing this to her having a "senior moment")

Later that night ..I was preparing dinner and had distributed the kids plates to them and had hers and mine in my hands ..I put mine down to reach her with her plate. Before I could reach her she had picked up the plate at my seating place and put it in front of her. Okay (son stratching head just figuring that she's having a 'senior momemt")

Later that night ..I forget the actual event..but I had cause to call her doctor and ask if the new medication had some side effect. He said no and to take her to the emergency room.

She had a minor stroke. She'd probably been this way for a few days. She'd been the entire time!!! She didn't even know anything was wrong. The doctor said that many of us have minor, undetectable strokes that don't get discovered until they look for the effects of a big one.
