Wix oil filter bubble test

Not really suprised by the Wix results. Wonder if the filter installed in a vehicle would have leaked past the bypass or if it would have corrected itself?
Randomly picked filters so what's the odds of getting the defective Wix or is there a quality problem ?

So would that filter be leaking in use? Or would the valve reseat itself? Any idea

So what did he prove or dis-prove? Pass or fail? Air pressure going wrong way. Sorry but it looked useless to me. What am I missing?

It proves the bypass valve isn't tight. Air pressure used isn't that great ... it's meant to find small leaks. Besides, the air pressure is actually helping seal the bypass valve in that test if you want to get technical. In actual use on a car, the delta-p across the bypass valve might make it leak even worse.

It would leak, that filter would be a "fail", since the bypass was leaking.
