I thought Wix filters were made in the USA?????

I just bought 2 Wix air filters for my 06 Colorado off Amazon. When I got them, they were clearly 2 different generations of filter. The old one looked similar to this and said Made In USA:

The newer one looked like this, and said Made in South Korea:

Both are the same part number.
Just thought I'd pass it on.

Different air filter designs are common especially when they are made in different countries, that goes for all brands/manufacturer.

I talked to a guy at a Napa store awhile back in regards to oil filters. He told me the cartridge oil filters were made in either USA, Mexico, South Korea or Poland. All the spin on type oil filters were made in USA. So far I haven't seen a spin on that wasn't made in USA. Doesn't mean they don't exist but so far I haven't seen one.

I have Donaldson filters from 21 countries. Same quality, just depends on where the major volume is for a given filter size/type.

Lots of brands with spin-ons from everywhere.

Ny Wix 51515 and 51372 are both spin on filters an both made in USA as well as the 51085 and the 51522 so i would have to agree with you.

So are ALL napa gold and wix air/oil filters good quality no matter where they are made? I have been using purolator air and pure one oil filters, bur am considering going exclusively napa gold.
