Wix 57830 oil filter-for subaru fb25

So I hadnt heard this yet but wix just released a new oil filter for subaru FB25 engines

its model 57830 but no info is available yet on the wix website.

I was hoping for a bypass pressure, and other stats.

anyone else know something more?

oh and they said its available since 6-12-2012

The dealers around me all want 9$/oem filter
and online the shipping is total buzzkill for the oem filters.

seems silly I'm paying more for the oil filter than 6qts of oil to go in the car.(2011 forester non turbo)

It cost me almost 50 bucks for supplies to do the OC on our 2011 using the subaru oil. I like the quality factory filter (toyo roki) and it's under 7 bucks up here. I am hedging my bet on this engine with the factory parts as its had teething issues. Wonder if the wix filter for this app uses their typical base end bypass - though a great idea, it can be a "can-hog" and displace usable filter area in small form factors (as many spin ons are tiny these days).

well they didnt call me back at o'riellys so I called again..

this guy emailed corporate and they will get back to me on pricing.(special order)

I get the business discount so I'm expecting ~~5$ and I have 30$ in gift cards for there.

This oil filter was designed and fits only FB series engines so it should be good.

fb25 and fb20 etc

The oil filter is more than the 6 quarts of engine oil? I thought the 2011 and later engines required 0w20 oil.

yep I had some Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 for 1$/qt

not that I would be afraid to run 5w30 in it..

some 5w30 are very close to a 0w20 at 100C
9.xx Cst vs 8.xx cst

next oil change is some castrol 0w20 I got for 32$ 20$ mir and sold the Mobil 1 oil filter for 9.99(cost)
so that was 5qts for about 4$ with tax
