This is the Made in USA version used in my 2023 Sienna for 6000 miles.

Looks good! Correct me if I am wrong, but Wix is a Mann & Hummel product. Might be good timing this product is looking good with Fram going dark for the near future.

Does look very good at 6k miles. I can't tell from the pics, does/did media have polymer mesh backing? Trying to determine if full synthetic media. Fwiw, pretty confident the M&H 'Wix' XP made at Purolator plant in Fayetteville NC. The potting looks a bit lighter than average Purolator type. It's very clean, that I can see no excess potting/glue.

Thanks for c&p.

Good call on the mesh. I wasn’t going to cut out the mesh because to me that is the most difficult part. Maybe someone can give me a post for C&P best practices, instructions.

I decided to open it slightly and sure enough is the plastic mesh. I also did the flashlight test and it passed.

I was going to guess that it did 'not' have the mesh backing because newer XP have been shown to have eliminated synthetic media. Seeing as topic made in 22, likely explains it. As for the polymer mesh, just need a sharp box cutter/utility knife and some careful patience. I say careful because don't want to cut yourself. I've c&p one similar, John Deere Easy Change filter has similar polymer mesh backing. It is a tough material. No surprise on passing flashlight test, unless a weird manufacturing defect, the endcap integral bypass like topic should pass. The one used here a typical Purolator type bypass. I'm thinking topic XP and equivalent application Purolator Boss of same year, would look very similar if not the same.

Here’s the Made in Mexico OF.
It came off my BIL 2007 Camry with the 2AZ engine. Valvoline Restore and Protect cycle 1. Oil filter replacement only, at 1100 miles. The oil that came out the filter was black. The media was not overly loaded. No carbon chunks, it appears very dispersed.

Light passed through the bypass. No wire backing like the USA version. The diameter is smaller, my sized filter wrench cannot be used. Good thing I was able to grip it off.
