Just information for anyone looking for oversized filters for Nissan.
Got some ideas from the Honda oil filer thread so this may have been covered before.
I added two of these to R/A order to try on our ‘24 Armada but when they showed up I knew there was no way they’d fit.
They do fit on our ‘05 XTerra though.
I think if someone had a 5.6 with the old style oil cooler these could work.
Made in Mexico louvers open in both and base end bypass.

I probably could have told you the 51334/9688 would not work on your newer Nissan. Nissan added a restriction ring around the filter mount area that eliminates the use of the wider filters. The 6607 or 7317 is all that will screw on now. Same true for many/most newer Hondas, either engine block or oil pan restriction prevent use of wider diameter 9688.

As for filter itself, not a big fan of the coo, and more so using what looks to be a nitrile adbv.

I've not been impressed by any Mexican made filters I've cut open. I was honestly hoping these might still be US made. I bought a 51061 last year with a '24 date code that was.
I know Baldwin makes two filters that are larger B1431 and BT40034 but there efficiency sucks. I usually use the 1402 on the xterra and have cut several open. They're very well built. No excess glue, even pleats, a metal crimp on the seam and no little plastic insert to interface with ADBV and baseplate but same 45 um rating.

I'm not a fan of COO of most filters I buy these days.
On our Armada the obstruction to the wider filter is the way the oil lines are oriented. It doesn't have a "restriction ring."

Yep, my point of reference for the restriction ring is the 2.5L engine on newer Altima and Rogue. Why I used the qualifier "probably". Oil cooler lines same result though.

As for coo, if the quality seen in the recent Mexican anecdotes had been same as 'previous/ear;ier' US made I'd be less critical. Not my observation though. Fwiw, many years ago I used a Mexico coo Napa Gold 1334 (with c&p) on an 01 Honda, it had Wix base end bypass piece and a silicone adbv. It was decent. Also in this particular application, M&H has been known to make this application in S Korea. Looks much like the Hyun/Kia OEM when made by Mann.

When I click the link to $14 filter it takes me to NAPA website and 1394.
I searched NAPA for 1344 and only one NAPA branded filter came up. $25 and does not appear to be made by premium guard but in-store product may vary.
Next time I get to NAPA I'll check it out. Says my local has it in stock and I don't think these are high volume movers.

They came out with updated versions standard Wix and Wix XP recently. For sure 2024 is the previous version. Eventually the new ones will be inspected. XP is 99+%@23 microns in test stand “efficiency”now.

What benefit do you assume that you are getting with an oversized filter?
My post was intended to be informational for anyone that may want to know if the filter would fit in their vehicle.
Capacity for one and media surface area (would have to be verified by cutting) The stock size just seems small to me for a 5.6 and I'd feel better about putting a larger on it. It's really that simple

I googled Napa Gold 1334 again and clicked filter pic and oddly 1394 came up. Then, scrolled down a little to Napa Auto Parts entry showing the Napa Gold 1334 filter mentioned and the correct application Napa Gold came up.* As mentioned, Napa Gold filters now made by Premium Guard. $13.89

That link is for a 1334. The filter I used was a 51344 which would cross to a NAPA 1344

Yep, it is. And the 1344 xrefs to the (in my observation) more common 1334 or in Wix would be 51334. Apparently the 5/1344 while the same diameter as 5/1334 is slightly (<1") longer. Interestingly, using 'oil filter xref.com', they both cross to each other and other same filters. So, I learned something in this exercise, a good thing. Also now see where you got the ~$25+ price for the 1344 and perhaps explains use of nitrile adbv.

Wonder if the efficiency spec on NAPA's website is old ... says "99% Efficient At 30 Microns" which could be left over info when Mann+Hummel made the NAPA Golds, unless that's what NAPA speced from PGI. Seems all the extended use PGI filters are in the 99% at 20-25u efficiency range.
