"It’s a basic human fact: Adversity breeds success for those willing to conquer it.

We live in a changing world—especially in the West. Entitlement has crept into our collective mindset. More and more people are expecting results without putting in the work. But a recent growth of self-entitled attitudes aren’t going to change fundamental truths of nature brought on by millions of years of human evolution.

No matter what, to get the results you want, you must suffer. You must fall, fail, and experience setbacks to learn rudimentary truths about life and success within it. You must face and battle Resistance. You must work and endure hard times to get better at your craft—whether it is athletics, art, business, being a Soldier, etc.

From that suffering you’ll find yourself. You’ll learn your limits or lack thereof. You’ll learn how to fall and get back up. You’ll learn to adapt to your environment. That’s what separates the Michael Jordans and Bill Gates’ of the world from the ones who will quickly be forgotten about.

As writer Steven Pressfield put it, “It’s better to be in the arena, getting stomped by the bull, than to be up in the stands or out in the parking lot.”

Gosh I love their products. American made too
No I do not work for them, I am a tanker, far from anything ranger related.
But they do make valid points on stuff

Some of their clothes are guaranteed to get you an [censored]-kicking at a bar -- they're ultra-inflammatory. Heck, some of those look like the Affliction/Tap Out stuff that many bars and clubs have actually banned.

How so? I'd wear pretty much any non-infantry exclusive shirts from rangerup or gruntstyle. I've came across people who are anti military, shoot those westboro guys I've seen as well. I don't give people much time when they call me names or try to pick fights with me. I smile, and say thank you no matter how bad it is. Killing people with kindness..
I've had girls... Girls say they wouldn't date me or blocked me out of their life after I enlisted... Which is fine... I'll fight for their opinions and go to bed at night and not lose sleep over it.

If you say so...

Oh and the jeans, ultra comfy American made too. I posted something a few weeks back about them. Pricy, but normally coupons at the top of the page, lately been free shipping.
I figured some of y'all would like the stuff, not endorsing it, just sharing quality clothes some may like.
American company + American made + good values and they speak the truth.
How can you go wrong?

I like the American made clothes. And I wouldn't classify the shirts as offensive. A bunch of them are very douchey and worn by wannabe soldiers who wouldn't enlist without a gun to their head...but not offensive.

I do however have a closet full of offensive t-shirts from my younger bar dwelling days, most of which I can't even bring myself to wear around the house these days.

At my age I'm no longer into 'statement' or message shirts....but I really like and agree with what the company posted about entitlement mentality.
Good stuff.

...I don't see why you say this, it's military inspired clothing.

Shirts for those that feel the need to convey a tough-guy image. And for tea party types. Often one and the same.

Exactly. It's odd to say the least. Most are as I said, military inspired. Few aren't.
If I want to wear a shirt with a combat action badge on it, being that I've earned it, I don't see an issue with it.
If I want to wear a shirt that has a Vietnam memorial on it, though I didn't serve in that war, yet I want to pay respect to my brothers and sisters that served during that time, I don't see the issue.

I am proud to be active duty, I'm proud to be an OEF veteran. I'm only 22. I didn't choose college out of high school, I worked. No, I'm not dumb, I graduated high school with a 3.72 GPA and honors, then I dropped from 340 lbs to 190 to join. I knew what I was doing when I signed the line... If I want to wear a shirt that says US Army, I don't see how that shows me being ignorant, or living in a wheeled home, or a tea bagger, I earned it.

I'm doing what most people wouldn't think of doing, being less than 1% of the country.
I've seen things people won't ever see.
I've done things people wouldn't do.
Again, if I want to portray this on a tshirt, I earned that right.

Just look at the perceived sect of population they disparage. Society has determined it's "ok" to pick on them; just dont dare throw ant remarks back at em!

For some reason people who actually have suffered really hard times. Never have the need to signal it to the wold like those t-shirts.

Sorry, but this comment is about as one-sidedly ignorant as any I've seen posted on this board.
Yes, some 'tough guys' like to wear shirts with harsh messages, but so do proud veterans. As long as they are kind people, and live a decent life...why be so disparaging and judgmental about what t-shirt people wear?
And what's with the 'Tea Party' comment? So am I to guess that this means you are a left-of-center individual who has the misguided notion that anybody that supports the Tea Party movement is worthy of insult?
Simply rude....and at only 53 posts??

My intent was to disparage meatheads, not Jarheads. As another poster said, those who have lived it don't usually feel the need to advertise it. Proud Veterans may wear whatever they choose, but just like anyone, they are making a statement by doing so. Many of the shirts on that website are as alpha-male macho as you can get. If that's you're thing, fine, but that image will impress upon people, and people will react accordingly. Me, I'll roll my eyes and wonder what you're compensating for if your shirt says "I may look calm, but in my head I've already killed you 3 times". You may be kind and decent, but that message is the one people will react to. (For the record, I realize not all of the shirts fit that description)

As for the tea party comment, many of the shirts on that website contain imagery they use. It's pretty clear that most of the images and impressions of those shirts play to a particular social and political bent. Is it wrong to make that observation?

Finally, I appreciate the OP's service and certainly meant no disrespect to him. There is a difference between supporting the military and supporting militarism. It is my opinion that many of the shirts on that site support militarism, and I do not.

And really, my post count is a problem?

Although I do NOT agree with that company's worldview, nor the majority of the messages on their shirts, I WOULD support them by buying their jeans since they are one of the ONLY ones still made here, in THIS country!!

I would comment on the Tea Party, but this thread is already way too political, and also I would be lambasted by the vast majority on here whom I believe are to the FAR RIGHT, WAY PAST mere T.P. worldviews (but with whom I fully agree with on other, non-pol issues/opinions).

BTW; My younger son is an active reserve Marine (they will not give him full time active due to the sequester, even though he asks for it EVERY SINGLE month).

I agree with their statement but I don't feel the need to advertise my beliefs on my shirt. That's something that you tend to grow out of as you get into your 20's, er well you should.

Also the ex military guys that I know that have actually done more than worked a forklift at a base are very quite about it and you have to literally pry the stories out of them. For example I sailed with one individual for three years before I found out he was a Ranger in Vietnam, and he let a few stories slip. Other than knowing he was in Vietnam he never talked about it.

In my experience the more you advertise the less you have done, that's also true in business, peacocking... Its no different than the internet guys that make their first couple hundred grand running out and buying a Lambo.
