No, this is true...they come in "N" for narrow, "R" for regular and "U" for universal. These are three different widths. Over half the replacement inserts we sold would come back and would have to be damaged out. We'd end up throwing more away than we sold because people didn't understand the concept and would just pull the wrong width out and try to jam them in.
I am very reluctant to sell the replacement inserts but if you came in and asked and knew what you needed, I'd have no problems. It does seem wasteful to replace the whole blade and frame every time but it's also wasteful to throw inserts away because people have no idea what they need or what they have.
