Hello everyone. On Father's day my wife bought me my first string trimmer. It was a Sthil. I also use the Motomix premix fuel and oil in it. Do I need to do anything to it such as dump the fuel out and run it out of fuel? Do I store it empty or full of Motomix in the tank? Do I pull the spark plug and add a drop of oil to the cylinder or anything? Thanks for the help.

That's about all I would do if running that fuel

I just fill up the gas tanks and put Stabil in all my lawn equipment and have never had any problems over several seasons.

My understanding is , and I can not prove this is that Motomix is made by Trufuel to Stihl specs using the Stihl oil. I also read where Motomix has been used for decades in Europe but is a recent product in the USA.

For the last 35 years, I've just put it in an unheated shed for six or seven months. Take it out in the spring, add fresh pump gas and fire it up.

Didn't know I was doing it all wrong........

Same here... saws, weed wacker, blower, hedge trimmer.

Seems we've missed all of the over-the-top maintenance steps and ceremonial rites required to ensure these simple machines do not become possessed by the ever present "demon of reluctant spring time start up". Wonder if it's the E10 fuel that's been warding off the evil spirits?

truefuel and motomix does not age like pumpgas does. Having 2T motomix in it, I would not even empty it. You don't use Stabil in alkylate, no need.

I use trufuel in a 2 stroke trimmer and in a 4 stroke blower and a 4 stroke string trimmer and leave the fuel in them over the winter with no issues. Starts right up next year like I just ran em last week

I add Sea Foam to my OPE fuel and don't drain prior to off season storage. Haven't had a problem yet.
