Since I received my Creative Labs PCMCIA Sound Blaster X-Fi I have been plugging in and removing things from the laptop like USB speakers, mice, USB headphones, USB keyboard etc. One day while I was playing music the screen went black and the laptop shut down. When I restarted, windows media player couldn't play music anymore. Soooo, how do I delete MWP and reinstall it or just fix it? I have been using the media player that comes with the sound card and it's very good, but I still would like to have WMP working and available.

WinAmp is a good alternative. However, it likes to install it's own agent that interferes with other media player's ability to change file associations. I gave up on it as I like to use a few different players.

Winamp actually is larger than Media Player (20 meg memory vs 17 megs). But I like that I can listen to XM radio in Winamp for free.
