window tint removal

Well I think my Nevada Legal tint is causing issues in New England. I am going to have the window retinted to whatever is legal in the area here.

What is the best method of tint removal. I was thinking heat gun and a plastic razor blade.

Use a fabric steamer and it will melt the adhesive to the point of being able to peel it off. You will have some residual goo but it's supposed to work great.

Google it. There are great utube videos. All you need is a green garage bag Windex with Ammonia and a nice sunny warm day. I did my Mom's Buick last Fall came off like paper. Simple.

You don't need a razor with the fabrication steamer it's like a heat gun but won't over heat the same way.

Hair dryer, rubbing alcohol, and a sharp razor.

I've used paint stripper, just about jumps off the glass but don't get it on ANYTHING else...

Be careful if you got those lined rear window de-icer's. Those little wire strips break off very easily and where your going to be at, you'll need them to work.
