Will V.MaxLife Full Synthetic Seal like Blend does

I am getting engine worked on tomorrow, or Tuesday, or Wednesday.. but not past Wednesday. i still have some Synthetic Blend MaxLife 5w30 Left. I have heard it is an Excellent Sealer oil, and Valvoline Web site says it is 30% Synthetic.. Good.

Now the new Product is MaxLife Full Synthetic.. i was tempted to use that. (5w30 year Round seems to be fine for my car, the Iron Duke motor.)

Both are API Service SM (Says API Service SM/SL, SM in the donut.. M1 says SL still) and Both are MaxLife oils.

So... I have heard the Recommendation for the 500 mile OCI after getting the new Heads and gaskets (Head Gasket Set_ on there.. head is used, getting Bolted On with new Gaskets. Old head may have a lot wrong with it.. fairly certain it does, actually.. so the used head is in better condition by default, and stands better chance of being "Fine.")

Now, im gonna use the remaining 2 Quarts and drain a little of the oil out (2 quarts) for thsi "500 mile OCI" following "Head Swap" on the Duke.

I suppose what im REALLY asking is... if the Full Synthetic MaxLife of the same grade will "Seal" little leaks liek the "Blend" will.

Head Swap performed at 181,000 miles.. Unknown health, but DOES run fine, particularly after this gasket is changed, as it is very Blown, and i DONT even wanna drive it to work tomorrow.. but i must, for one more day...

Since it is still in the Maxlife product line, I would sure think so.

The Full Synthetic will flow better at cold temps, clean a little better, and will not burn off as easily.

Id run the blend for now since its cheaper.

Bud, your iron duke would probably run for 500,000 miles on olive oil, of the extra virgin persuasion. You want proof? Look at USPS trucks. Most use the GM "Iron Duke" 2.5L, (a few later model years use the GM 2.2L OHV) They are estimated at 30 years of good, usable life. How good do you think the maintenance on those are?

The Tech 4 Iron Duke in my sister's 85 Fiero died at 300k and it was from not checking the oil. Several of he oil changer intervals were over 5k on conventional back in the late 80's and early 90's before the oils were capable of it.
