Will MS Office Pro 2011 run on my C840?

The graphic memory requirement for MS Office Pro 2010 is 64 MB. My aging Dell C840 laptop running on Win XP Pro (1 GB RAM) has only 32 MB of dedicated graphic memory. Will the office suite run on my laptop?

I just ordered the office suite (one license key) and should arrive today. I am debating whether to install it on this aging laptop or buy another laptop running Win 7. I do not know how the MS handles the software license key. If I installed it on C640 and decided later to take the other route, would I be able to transfer the license key to another laptop?

Microsoft does not make it easy to deactive and transfer any of their licenses - you will lose the registration and may have to call their customer service line and beg them to allow a new installation (don't ask how I know).

Office 2010 will be a dog on your old lappy. You posted about getting a new laptop - DO IT and then install Office on the new one.

Lots of good pricing on quality laptops. Also check out manufacturer's sites for refurbs (best deal going!).

+1 on getting a new laptop. Highly recommended for MS Office Professional 2010. Good first step on getting licence key though.

I Installed MS Office Professional 2010 on my laptop in January. Quite impressed of it and feel it's an order of magnitude better than Office 2007.

BTW, MS Office Professional 2011 is for Mac.

It will run better than most here are saying it will.

And you can usually get away with "re-installing" the product once, and it re-activating without issue. After that, you are having to call Microsoft and tell them that you replaced your PC, and want to install it on your new one.
