As expected, I figured you'd deny it. Hahaaaa!

I don't "expect" most people to "do the right thing" automatically, but when they do it is a great feeling to see it happen still gives me some hope for the human race.

There's two kinds of people:

Those who will, in their lifetime, fix more than they'll break.

Those who will, in their lifetime, break more than they'll fix.

Yep....

Actually, there are many kinds of people.
You left out the moral majority types who are constantly in other people's business when people deviate from some cookie cutter norm of not revving a stone cold engine just for fun because it doesn't really "belong" to you.

These are the types who sit around and listen to angry white male talk radio while shaking their fists about "how America used to be"................

Also the baby boomer types living their never-ending childhood, wanting to do whatever they please without any consequences and then blaming everyone else when those consequences invariably come.

Go ahead and rev the snot out of your engine, just don't skip a child support payment when it blows up and you have to get it fixed.

How would that be? When people took responsibility for their actions instead of going on the Jerry Springer show and whining about how whatever predicament they find themselves in is someone else's fault?

Um, I don't rev cold engines nor do I have child support payments.

I live under the radar, friend. It's clear to me that some Americans have too much pent up cold war-era moral libido.

That's quite a blanket statement. My baby boomer parents don't have child support payments (though I have cost them a significant amount of money over the years), have never leased a vehicle, and even though their cars are paid for they don't rev the snot out of the engines.
