On OS Monterey one has to go into Edit > Emoji & Symbols
changed the rear shocks on my RX&
Typing this on Monterey and "Option+0" works just fine. There are more obscure or less common symbols that are only accessible the way you describe though.
° wow never knew this (on my iPhone) but in this forum it would be better to stick with F or C since many are outside the USA or at least don’t leave them out
