Why is 5-20 Synpower not available everywhere?

I noticed O'Reillys doesn't carry Synpower in 5-20. I went to my local AAP today and they don't either, even though they have Synpower on sale and used to carry 5-20. Other AAP stores in the area carry it though. With Ford, Honda/Acura and others specing 5-20, why wouldn't all auto stores stock it? And you can forget about 0-20 Synpower. I've only seen it at Walmart in quart bottles. The clerk at AAP didn't believe me when I told him there wasn't even a space on the shelf for the 5-20. He looked in the back for 10 minutes for it. He then tried to sell me M1 or 5-30. No thanks.

I like O'Reilleys for parts, but the oil selection...not so much.
Strange that AAP didn't have it; that's usually where I get mine.
