Every day I look at the topics on this site and I wonder why out of all the things I could be doing, I am surfing around looking at different UOA's filters etc. I went to give blood the other day and was refused. Was told that the blood was actually a GF4 30wt. Whats wrong with me and is there a cure?

Order a UOA from Blackstone to see if your Iron isn't outside the universal averages.

Was thinking about that, but am worried at what I might find.
Might need an Auto RX treatment, not to mention a lower end rebuild.

well..you qualified as being in the BITOG initiation..if you do a UOA, have an adequate oil stash from oil sales, try auto-rx/LC, and ponder what oil is best for your ride. this will take about a year out of of your life. enjoy.

Thats a good one... I too find myself here reading and getting smart on oil... last night I went to the grocery store and started comparing the price of a qt of oil to food prices... what is happening to me?!?!

Because a car is the second most expensive cost item in your life.

You are a North American and cars are your life.

Marketing has left you wanting because you are intelligent enough to know there is more to lubricants than frequent oil changes.

That same marketing failure has mislead you for years through uninspired technically lite marketing about what really goes on inside the lubricated parts of a car.

Because;
Oil companies wanted to sell the refuse remaining from refined fuels as lubricants and make a few more shekels from the uninformed. One reason Conventional lubes did not get nearly as "good" as synthetics for the average PCMO application until 5 -6 years ago.
