Who's running Clean 7500?

Hey Guys and Gals,

Whose giving Mobil Clean 7500 a shot in their vehicles currently? Please state the vehicle and viscosity grade and whether or not you're planning to do some used oil analysis.

It will be interesting to see how this stuff does. I saw one funky UOA thus far with super high lead that hopefully was caused by some condition other than the oil quality.

I'll prob be going to it in a couple of weeks in my 2005 toyota Corolla.

The UOA we have seen had to be fuel that had lead in it IMO.

i got 2200 miles on mobil 7500 and im planning to do a used oil analysis my ride ia an f150 4.6 and im using 5w30. should i do it at 3k or whait till 4k, since its my first run on this oil i dont want to go the 7500 miles. what do you think?

Did my first oil change at 1000 miles. I'll be taking the 7500 oil out at 5000 and I am trying to decide if I should use it again or go Mobil 1.

I'd go to at least 4k unless you are mainly doing very severe short mileage trips.

I recommend doing a used oil analysis with Brother Stinky Peterson. The oil may stink but the result won't!!! Speaking of which, virgin 7500 is a very pungent oil. I bought some and then some Havoline and I could barely smell the Havoline SM but the 7500 reaked. Who said these oils are all the same????

*raises hand* I'm running 7500 10w30 in my STi. I'll be running it 2,500 miles and then sending off a sample to Blackstone for analysis. Previous oils used on my STi are as follows:
Factory-fill: 2,500 miles
Mobil Drive Clean 5w30: 2,500 miles
Motorcraft Semi-Synthetic 5w30: 2,500 miles

The used oil analysis for the last two oil changes (Mobil DC and MC) are in the used oil analysis section.

After the Mobil 7500 run I plan on moving to German Castrol and will most likely start moving out the OCI based on used oil analysis.

I am using 7500 in my 01 CRV, so far it has about 800 miles on it. I will try to post a used oil analysis.

I do drive it hard, but I don't abuse it. I'm sticking with what I feel are very short OCI's during the first 10,000 miles based on my comfort level with conventional and semi-syn oil in this engine. Once I make the switch over to GC, I intend to try and get the OCI out to 5,000 miles. I don't think that will be much of a stretch for GC.

Sorry, I am using 5W30, it also seemed to fix a oil pan gasket leak. I was using Mobil 1 5W30 before. Nothing noticably has change in performance ( gas mileage, power, etc...)

Just put 7500 in my 96 Accord (non-vtec. I've got 122K on the car. Drive 80 RT daily to work on the freeway.Consistant 3000 mile OCI since I purchase the car used 4 yrs ago w/ 56K on the engine. will run UOA at about 5K with this oil to see if I can make it to 7K.

I had to get my 7500 at Autozone as the local Walmart is not carrying it. They have the regular M1, the Mobil 1 Extended Performance, and the clean 5000. At first I thought it was simply an availability issue but now I believe they are deliberately not going to sell it here.........as it's been quite a while now. The likely reason why I believe is shelf space. Mobil has too many ****ed oils right now and they already have a lot of shelf space even without the 7500. Anyway, Autozone wanted $2.86 for the stuff and at that price, it may be a better deal to get $4.00/quart M1 in the 5 quart jugs at Walmart.

What did you guys pay for your 7500 and did you get your's at Walmart?

bought mine with giftcard, but it was 2.86 a qaurt, walmart its 2.18.

I paid $1.96 for 7500 at Walmart. I didn't realize it at the time but based on what the rest of you paid thats pretty good !

Mobil 7500 is avail at the Utah Walmarts for $2.18 a quart. 5w30, 10w30 are stocked.

At the Autozone, They carry 5w-20 7500 and it's $2.69 a quart.

I'm no expert on the cost of various basestocks but with some of the prices you are naming, I have to question that this is a group III oil with some PAO. Common sense dictates this question......doesn't it? Some of the SM Group II's are running in the $1.60 - $1.85 per quart range nowdays. How do you get a Group III + 20% to 30% PAO for 2 bucks in this world? THe group III allegations are most likely just that.................rumors and unbacked allegations. The price says that this is group 1 plus PAO or maybe even group 1 with a lot of group III. Has Mobil even said there is PAO in it?

A copy of my used oil analysis on my Camry , 7000 miles, using 7500 is posted. Previos used oil analysis with other oils, Schaeffer's, were excellent. This one with 7500 was good except, showed 700 ppm of lead. Yes 700. We still don't know what the deal is. I will resample this weekend and send in another sample. Hopefully there was some contamination, although I honestly don't see how. But I hope that is the case.
