Who makes Super Tech 10W-30 oil from Wal-Mart?

Right!

The bottom of the container or jug can tell you something. And not all grades come from the same blender. NOR, even some of the same grades, e.g., 10W30, may come from two different blenders. One blender for the 1qt bottle and another for the 5qt jug. I've seen it this way in my area.

Warren Performance Products(WPP/WNE) < will state these letters on the bottom

IDK about Exxon/Mobil(XOM) what their bottles/jug look like. At one time, the XOM bottles/jugs were the darker BLUE(not the Blue/Gray as WPP).

Citgo may in fact have their own lettering on the bottoms of the containers, IDK!

Any way that it comes, it's all good oil and held in high regard here at Bob's

Thanks, it is an 'Overkill' question since it for my Kohler 7000 series 22HP Zero-Turn mower. I plan to use Wally oil after the initial 5hr break-in oil change. Afterwards, I plan to use Wally conventional for an additional 50hrs before switching to a synthetic oil. Kohler allows for synthetic only after 50hrs on conventional.

Wally 10w30 5qts is about $12. No need to spend money on name branded oil.

Unfortunately, it will take 2 years to do the switch to synthetic since I mow 25-30 times per year for an hour.

Amalie is making it too for the southeastern states. Made at the old Texaco facility in Charleston, SC that they now own.

To me - ST is another 'store brand' based on specs - and it will always have contracts up for rebid etc - so this can be hard to chase. But again - it has to meet the specs in the bid tender ... also, some of the blenders buy products and they have bidders too - that have to meet specs ...
This is why API, ACEA, ILSAC, OEM specs (and of course BITOG) exist ...

Here in New England, it's from WPP/NE and has been for quite some time now. I bought some at a Wal-mart in southwest Florida a few months ago and it was from Amalie (AOC on the bottom of the bottle.)

Quite a while ago it was made by Mobil. It was the Mobil bottle shape except it was blue and said ST. :P

If you work your mower hard when it's pretty hot, the 15w40 seems to hold up a little better. HDEO (typically for diesels) usually has a better additive package than plain 'ol 10w30.

I'm guessing the lot code on the bottle will tell if it's from Charleston or Tampa?

If it's that hot consider straight SAE 30 or 40

HDEO Shell T5 synthetic blend is available at Walmart 4qt jug at $16.47 - $5 Shell rebate.

Just punch in the UPC code off the bottle/jug at the Walmart MSDS checker.
