Time for new belts on my F250. I put Gates on it originally and they didn't last at all. Replaced them with USA made duralast ones. These were great.

Unfortunately the Duralast belts are now made in China and are rubber instead of EPDM material. They don't look like a quality belt either.

I don't have much choice.

Duralast is now Chinese? Wow.

The continental belts for my Mercedes cars are now made in China too. Ugh.

Have you looked at dayco top cog?

Gates didn't last? On my F150 it has been on there for years. Have a Gates green stripe on my S2000 also. 9000rpm I would say is a good test. Dayco squeaks intermittently on my BMW. Drove me crazy until I figured that one out. BMWs need the grip on top of the belt like OEM / Conti. have

Ya one rolled over. The rest we're glazed in just a few weeks.

The numbers that fit my truck are. Pep boys has the dayco top cog except for the most important one that runs the alternator and water pump.

I have used Gates in the past and they worked fine but it doesn't surprise me that they aren't what they used to be. It's a shame everyone is cutting corners.

The last Dayco I installed were (maybe unsurprisingly) made in Italy for my Italian cars, and USA for the Mazda. I usually always use Continental or Dayco.

Do they even offer v belts? The local Ford dealer won't even try to look up parts for a car that's over 10 yrs old.

Seriously? You need a different dealer then, my local Toyota and Honda dealerships have no issues looking up parts for my cars that are 20 years old. Heck even the local posh BMW shop doesn't break a sweat on my 25 year old BMW - although they will sometimes say it is the oldest one they have seen in a while.

Ford won't do over 10 yrs. Our import dealers will just like yours will.
