Lets see. My beater is a 1984 VW Rabbit Model L Diesel. Has the 1.6 litre IDI diesel and four speed manual transmission. Manual locks, windows, and steering. AM/FM/CASS radio that the cass don't work. No rust. Bought it from the origanal owner with 109,000 miles on it. Never seen a winter. And always was parked in a garage. Doesn't use any oil. Had to put brakes and tires on it. Not a dent on the car till some women took me in the front passanger fender a few weeks ago in a parking lot. A/C still works though. So that is my 40-50 MPG beater.

All but 1 of my cars are beaters, well cared for, but still beaters.
