Hey All;

As you all guessed I'm new here. Anywho, I've been trying to find the best oil filter to use on my 95 GS-R Acura.

The Integra has 58,3000 and I just changed to Castrol full synthetic (Snytech) oil. At the moment I have a K&N oil filter.

From what I've read here and other forums thus far. It would seem that the K&N oil filters are best used in cars that are modified with larger after market oil pumps. Mechanically my Teg is all stock.

On my next oil change I like to switch out the K&N oil fiter to a Honda Hamp oil filter. They come in two sizes, large and small.

Now from what I've read here so far, the other oil filter to go with is the Honda S2K #15400-PCX-004. Which is the same size as the old large Honda oil filter and is identicial to the Hemp.

So assuming that the S2K #15400-PCX-400 is the large size, would I be correct to oder the large size Hamp oil filter? I think the part number for the large Hamp oil filter is H1540-PR3-408 or is it H1540-PR3-014?

Please chime in with some info and thank you all for helping me with such a simple question...

i thought the one for your car was the H1540-PLC-004

which is also spec'ed for the s2000.

seotaji,

the oil filter that is spec'ed for the S2000 (S2K) is #15400-PCX-400. Which are made by TOYO ROKI MFG.,LTD in Japan. Which by the way makes the HAMP oil filters too.

The HAMP oil filters come in to sizes;

large and small.

The large size HAMP oil filter just happens to be the same exact spec's as the TOYO ROKI #15400-PCX-400, which is spec'ed for the HONDA S2000.

The small HAMP oil filter is very close to the Filtech #15400-PLM-A01 made for Honda here in the USA. This Honda oil filter is spec'ed for all Honda's as of Spet. 7th of 2004.

With the exception of the S2000 (S2K) and at least one or two other Honda models.

The original oil filter that the 1995 Acura Integra GS-R used up untill Spet. 7th 2004 was the same as the S2000 (S2K). It would seem that I've gone full circle and have answered my own qestion.

I can go with either one, large or small. I just pick up a couple of the TOYO ROKI #15400-PCX-400 (large). After I go through these, I'll see if there's a need for me to go to the small one later for the added oil pressure...

Hey oilcanboyd,

thank you for chimming in. I just did an oil and filter change and for what ever it's worth, I feel better having an OEM made in Japan Honda oil filter.

I now also have the #15400-PCX-400 in my 95 GS-R. I feel I've made the right choice for my Teg...
