Which one is better for Opel Astra H 2005

Hi oil guy! I followed your guid line to get choice oil for my car,thanks.Before 30000 Km,I always add GM specified Motor oil per 5000 Km in the 4S. However,I doubt the Oil( Genuine GM Motor Oil 5w30 SL)just fit to use.Can anyone tell me that how about the oil above,and wich one is better for my car (Opel Astra H 2005 WOLH643365045657),To choice from the three band:Castrol,Mobil and Shell.Rightnow I have added some Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 SM/CF,is this a good choice?

Astra should be ok on any oil.



Use the 5w30 in a brand you trust. 10w30 if it is hot.

There's not much advice people can give who do not know your oil products. The same name oil can be different oil here or in China. Do you like Petronas? They make good oil.

I don't think you need a full synthetic oil or a heavy oil like 5w-40. Is there a middle grade of oil, like a semi-synthetic or synthetic blend 10w30 or 5w30?

In my engine Ecotec 1.8 VVT, it is important to keep good clean oil. The engine is ok in general, but one part, the intake "swirl flaps" get gummy if the oil is old and nasty and if you over fill too much oil.
