it is a 96 honda civic lx, has a D16Y7, burn a lil oil at really high rpms (usually if i take it out of town where it is very hilly) doesn't burn any oil in St. Louis, MO even though it gets fairly hilly here, i was using Super-Tech at 3k OCI with Puralator Classic Filter, it would get fairly dirty on the dipstick around 3k so i would change it, but being here on BITOG lately i see people do 5k on conventional? thats insane but seem like a good way to save money, all that being said. the car has 175k miles and the engine runs amazing other then the random low idling sometimes, I'm getting 32-34 mpg highway out here in STL. So there are no oil leaks, have already checked for everything, so is High Mileage oil a good idea? i mean isn't that generally for oil leaks? please pour in suggestions with explanations, i am thinking of using Super-Tech Full Synthetic as before but running on Puralator PureOne (4.20ish at AAP if bought in bulk) on 5k OCI, they have this amazing deal on Havoline Full Synthetic for $19.99 at AAP with Puralator PureOne filter, is Havoline Full Synthetic a good oil? Please advice.
