Where would you like to live?

I don't know, How about that stone "house" in the middle of Sydney Harbor? Might even consider a place on the cliffs overlooking the harbor entrance.

My first choice would be Alabama. I have never lived there, but I frequently visit my family there and often spend close to a month there in the summer. I just feel right at home in B-ham, though I would probably live in a more rural area.

I also like TN.

I live in north Alabama and enjoy it very much. This is where I would like to live b/c it's close to family. Vacation is another thing altogether. Even when we go to Hawaii, I'm still glad when we get home & can see family.

I absolutely love Canada's east coast. Everything is so relaxed and life moves at a snails pace compared to southern ontario. Anywhere I can sail a sailboat is fine with me.

hard to say, I love the rain, wish it would rain 24/7....probably coastal washington.

if money were no object I would have a house in Encinitas, Ca and one in coastal Washington.

First choice, where I live now. Charles Metsker of local map fame called the Puget Sound Country the "Playground of America". How true. Drop-dead gorgeous here.

But if I had a choice other than here- assuming it was somewhere I've at least visited (and could afford!)- perhaps San Diego. Life is going 24/7 there; I loved it when I visited there in '96.

Or maybe a place where I could live on $5000/year...

I really enjoy living on the central coast of calif. good weather year around, low traffic issues, nice people, lots of things to do if you are into the outdoors. it is a vaction destination. I was just up on the northern coast of calif. and think that it also would be a great place to live.

I intend to move to the place I really want to live this fall if all goes well. That is northern San Diego county on the coast. I won't actually be on the coast but in a coastal town. I love the climate and all the things for my family to do. I hope to work in the same community and avoid driving into San Diego.

drm7 - my grandma lives in encinitas, the whole area is nice...carlsbad, cardiff by the sea, del mar, leucadia... if you can ignore the snobs (ya right) somehow then you'll love it.

Smaller burgh, perhaps 15,000 souls at most, long the Pacific coast of far northern California, Oregon or Washington.

Far enough from the major population centers to avoid the influx of weekend tourists.

After winning multi-millions in the lottery I will be able to buy an acreage not too far outside town, with a small year-round stream with a suitable portion of the land above the 1,000 year flood zone.

Jobs are scarce in those areas so never tried to resettle there in my present circumstances.

Just keep me away from the horrid mobs of humans infesting the land. And, Coot loves the climate/weather in the Pacific northwest.

As a plus, maybe Pablo would let me visit and sit on his rock!!!!!
