Where would one purchase Redline

Are there any online distributers that carry the 5w20 and 5w30 oils? These are full synthetic correct? how do they hold up to 6-8k mile intervals?

Summitracing.com can send you anything redline makes. I have only found better prices at local Ma Pa dealers and you usually have to order anything besides the normal stuff. Call redline, they can tell you where the closest dealer is. I have a local mec down the street that sells it and I didn't even know until I called RL.

Short answer: You can call redline up and order it direct.

If i understand correctly, you are probably really looking for the 5w20 stuff. I have an 03 civic that specs it and summitracing didn't carry it, neither did any local shops. I finally ended up calling redline to see if they even made 5w-20 for street use, and they said "sure, how many quarts do you want?"

The coolest thing was 3 days later when a fedex guy walked up to my door with a case of motor oil on his shoulder. funniest thing I've seen in a while.

I'm using the 5w20 in my Civic, 3K filter change, 6k full oil change. I feel like the oil is doing just fine, holds up nicely, and I haven't noticed any kludge in the engine. at 3K the oil was a bit dark when I changed out the filter, but it has stayed the same shade with the new filter. I'm about to change again in 500 miles so if you wan't I'll keep you posted.

FYI, if you look around the board, most poeple use mobil 1 or amspil for longer changes.. I use RL because while I don't race, I drive in California and on highways where the "speed limit" is more like 80 and both tempers and temperatures get kinda hot, and I end up driving a bit hard at times. If you are easy ont he car, Mobil 1 syn might be a good choice, too.

The FedEx guy would not leave it at my door because I was not home when he came. Next time I ordered I insisted they ship it NOT reqiring a signature, but to simply leave it on the porch. Much better.

Al Smith Automotive Products (ASAP) in Baltimore, Maryland, carries the complete line, but on his website http://www.synlubes.com the newer viscosities 5W20 and 5W40 are not listed. Also, the gallon jugs of all grades are available. You will need to call his toll-free number or mail in the order instead, but Al does carry the complete line. His policy is that any order above $150 has free shipping within the US, so this would be your cue to buy a couple of cases plus some SI-1, etc. I bought 4 gallons of 5W40 plus some other stuff from him some time back and received it, if memory serves, 2 days later by regular UPS. Of course, I live in Virginia, which helps.

At the Carlisle swap meets in Pennsylvania I also buy Red Line products from Merrick & Fair/More Than Tires, which is based in Carlisle anyway. The only problem is that you must pay 6% Pennsylvania sales tax on purchases made there.
