Where to store spare house/car keys ?

Several family members have a key to my house, but I haven't used my key in a looooong time. I use the garage opener to go in/out of the house. Front door hasn't been used in years.

My grandparents put a key in an empty pill bottle and buried it out in the planter about 10 years ago. I doubt we could find it if we tried lol.

Years ago I took to carrying a spare car key on me. Vehicles used to come with keys that were inside a credit card; I thought that was great. After GM's ignition debacle I started carrying my car keys on a separate ring; on the ring that I keep my house keys on I carry a spare vehicle key.

What would be nice if I could have both my vehicles take the same key... Speaking of which, I ought to do the same for the house, rather than having three different keys.

As for the house, friends have a spare key. But since it's my house... I know how to break in. But we rarely lock, as we figure the dog will deter anyone--and anyone who gets past the dog won't find much anyhow.

So I don't have to run around opening doors I just put lock boxes on all of my gas meters.

Change the code every once in awhile if you give it out a lot.

I don't have spare key for the house, the front door and patio door never locked so no key is needed.

The spare keys for the cars are on a panel in the garage next to the side door.
