2013 Fiesta SE Hatch. Where to find solid lug nuts? OEM on the car seem to have thin chromed metal Acorn sleeve over the actual lug nut that deforms and makes it hard to put socket on and really hard to remove socket. Don't want to spend a lot of $. Don't care if not pretty, chromed or is non acorn type. Can't tell if the ones I see on Amazon are really solid or are the same covered with thin chromed sleeve.

Same issues with my Focus. Picked up the Dorman solid lug nuts from Amazon and they have been fine 5 years later.
If you are a COSTCO member, their Tire Center sells one-piece chrome lug nuts (individually) for many applications. They are also priced fairly, but might be cheaper purchased as a set through Amazon.
That would work. Those 2 piece (Capped) ones are a major pain. Why would they do that??? Seems easier to just make a lug nut and chrome it. Every time we take a ford to Discount Tires they want to sell us new lug nuts at $$$ each. I tell them I not buying. They wound up putting solid ones on my wife's Ford for free after I told them I'm not spending any more $$$.
A vast number of people have said this in the past and its not just ford.
Jeep cherokee lug bolts for example are the same type of design.
They all get rust swollen and either dont fit the socket or the lid pops off then it doesnt fit the socket.

I replaced those early because my socket broke and I chewed up a couple of them before I noticed what happened. (plastic sleeve over the part that broke hid the breakage)

Any autoparts store, napa, etc, will have the silly expensive chromed solid ones out front and cheap solid ones in the back. I swap these first thing now, soon as I get a vehicle with them.
I replaced the junk on my Mustang with Gorilla lug nuts. Very good quality.
What is under that chromed sheet metal cap? another hex?

Nope. Not yet anyway. I tell everyone to keep their receipts when we sell them a set.
Which is odd because at least our Costco sends people to us saying they won't touch the vehicles until they have a new set of lugnuts ready to go.
I got new solid ones from Renegade Ready / Madness Auto Works for FIL's '16 Trailhawk Renegade. Make sure you get correct size HEX so lug wrench fits. The Renegade ones are 17mm.
Had to fight to get the old ones off today. Glad I did it at home in the driveway not roadside. Tried my regular 17mm since Impact 17mm was too tight. That didn't work. Had to hammer on the impact to get them off. Some caps came off first which made them 16mm bolts.
