I am looking for other places to compared the OEM price on a Acadia catalytic converter. I have always used Tasca but lately the prices are nuts.

Thanks

Good luck. Rhodium is going for around $25K an ounce right now.

That said, gmpartsgiant.com is my go-to when Rock Auto or Amazon do not have stock.

I did check the price parts at your link and very close to Tasca price. They have gone up in price since the last time I bought one.

Cool! Do you need both, or just one? Because if you only need the left cat, you can get an open box Magnaflow cat for $400. This one is a California-legal cat, so it should last longer than a non-CARB cat even if not quite as good as factory/OEM. Regular price is too close to OEM GM from the dealer.

Otherwise, get the Eastern cats from Rock Auto. Eastern is probably the best non-CARB cat, and they give you a 50k warranty (federal law only requires 25k).

How long do you plan on keeping the car? What kind of condition is it in other than the cats? How much rust?

EDIT:
I also found a brand called Millercat
Each one is $458 and CARB-legal
That price is $200 less than a dealer OEM cat

The car belongs to a friend, probably intent to keep few more years.

Cool, then a California-legal aftermarket cat should do the job. Make sure you also replace the oxygen sensors, too. Denso and NTK are the best ones to use.

Does your friend have to deal with inspection? Does your friend live in an emissions county?

I've had good luck with O'Reilly and AZ. Autozone usually cost less when both stores have what I need. O'Reilly seems to have more GM oem parts available. With their rewards programs and extra coupons through email, prices are usually comparable.

Call yourself some junkyards and buy a used one.
It's against federal law for junkyards to sell used ones. So you won't find any junkyard selling used ones. I believe it's a 10k fine if they catch you.

On some enthusiast forums, you'll find people selling their old cats as some like to remove them for performance reasons. Otherwise you're stuck with having to buy new.
