Where is the ProSelect manufactured?

Does anyone here know where the ProSelect Wix-made-to-Napa-specs filters are built?

I'm sure that Wix has several plants. Where the filter was built will depend on which filter number you buy.

I already looked on the Wix website. The plant listing does not tell which plant produces a specific filter. I emailed Wix today and asked the same question. Hopefully in a few days they will have time to answer. It really isn't that important. I am just curious whether the plant in Dillon, SC makes the ProSelect since I have family from SC and the box for the filter does not give a specific manufacturing location.

The box doesn't ..but the filter does. You just have to decipher the lot number. It will show date/time/line/plant in some form or manner.

Gary, No plant just the assembly line. The lines are specific to the plant they are in. Ya gots ta be an employee to know what is where. FYI. they're made everywhere.

Thanks Pete. I have not heard back from your co-workers yet but surely they will have the time to reply soon. After much research and study here and on other websites I am making the change from Purolator PP filters to Wix with the ProSelect on my upcoming oil change later this week. I follow a very strict 3K OCI on my truck and am confident the ProSelect will do just fine. I'm putting in a new ProSelect air filter too. It is my hope that by buying Wix filters at Napa I am in my own small way helping American workers at Wix and Napa stores in North and South Carolina and other states to keep their jobs. Plus I live in a small town and I am glad to support local business and my local Napa store. The guys at the Napa down the street are good people.

Thanks for the clarification ...but ..hmmm.. how do they trace a defect showing up in the field without the plant in the lot #

I guess it would be unlikely that two of the same filter number would be running in two different plants at the same time (maybe?)

Assembly lines are specific to the plant they are located in. Lines 6, 8, 32, 16, etc are in one plant. Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, etc are in another plant. there are no duplicate assembly line numbers. If a line is shut down or replaced the original number is "retired" and a new one is assigned to the replacement line. If a new product assembly line is installed, it gets the next number on the list.

If the same filter PN was run in different plants at the same time, they would still have different lot numbers due to this.

I have had excellent assistance from Wix before; I would buy their filters again.
