Ok. Just asking because the engine that came for the S10.. You won't believe this.. also had a rod knock. *That's right: Old, rod knock engine taken out.. Used engine put in.. had rod knock.
crazyoildude, the guy putting it in says he wants to "have the crank cut, with matching bearings maybe they will be .01 or .02 over, polish the rods, polish or regrind the cam, and that way I will have a good rotating assembly. The head is cast iron so he says he can check that himself, and he says he will check all clearances. Use gaskets from a 350 rebuild kit and get it going." Do you agree with that?
It was either that, or buy a local engine from a 1995 and just change the things that need to to make it bolt in/work.
