Whole lot of geezer Civil War veterans in the 1920's had the girlies flocking around for marriage. The Great Depression started early out in the boonies, and that $17/month CASH pension was enough. (And, yeah, they had kids).
About significant age differences in relationships- I have no problem at all with it as long as the motive is proper.
