Wheel bearing shot, mechanic is on medical leave

Also I've never done one but I've got an '06 Forester sitting at the shop right now for a different problem. But I know I'll be doing all service on it as needed.

I've been skeered of the wheel bearings on these ever since I watched this awhile back:

Thankfully on the 06 Subaru went to a different design. Those older ones can make you break a sweat that's for sure and without a smoke wrench and big air hammer are just about impossible. The newer ones have all sorts of different obstacles to navigate though, mostly bushings and having to use a sawzall with a carbide blade on the rear toe adjustment bolts.
Almost as much fun as having to calculate and install tapered shims behind the hubs on MKIV VW rears.

He says in the vid it's an '07 but he doesn't state model? Kinda looks like Forester sheetmetal but I'm not good w Subie stuff.

Was he wrong about the MY?
