Wheat Beer

Sunshine or Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat.

Blue Moon - it's a decent beer, although way too trendy. Especially since it was a participant at the "Beer Summit"

Sam Adams has a 50 proof beer (not fortified) that's supposed to be extraordinary. Get cocked on 1 bottle. Wheat beer has unfiltered yeast and is unpasturised, true? I like ipswich ale in the 1/2 gal growlers.

The best, easy to get, Wheats out there right now are Hoeggarden and Sierra Nevada Kellerweis.

Anyone who thinks BlueMoon is a good wheat, does indeed not know a good wheat beer.

If you have a local craft beer store, Rogue and Allagash make GREAT wheats.

I have found Hacker-Pschorr to be pretty good. I also liked the Franziskaner Weiss. Gonna pick up some Paulaner Weiss and Hoegaarden this weekend to try.

I just had Franziskaner weiss last night for the first time and wow that is a crazy beer. Tases like a cream soda or something. I liked it a lot but I couldent just go to town on them and drink a few in a row but my brother said he could drink many in a row. Little too sweet for me. Here in portland the wheat beer we drink is Widmer hefeweizen.

After finishing the 12-pack (with some help from friends), I must say this beer is pretty nice. Not as strong as some of the German wheat varieties, but very refreshing, and you can drink a lot of it and not get drunk. Some might say it's like Blue Moon, but I think 312 is much better.

I'm going to give Goose Island India Pale Ale a try next, although that's not wheat obviously.
