I'm just wondering...what's the longest distance you've ever ran your oil..for me about 8500 with gc. Went back to conventional and I'm happy with my 3k in winter and 4k in summer

24k miles in my Cummins Dodge. RT6. Still had life in the oil when the UOA came back. May go for 30k the next time.

I once went 9,500 miles with Mobil1. I just didn't feel comfortable with that long of an OCI and thought about changing the oil all the time. I did it once and one time only. This is on my CRV which at the time had about 60,000 miles on it. The same CRV now has 140,000 miles on it and the oil is changed at about 5,000 miles with whatever name brand synthetic is on sale. I am old school and have the old 3,000 mile oil change interval burned into my head. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks so getting me to change my oil at 5,000 miles was like pulling teeth.

Almost 14k with Chevron 5w30. Another was 13k with Pennzoil YB.

Prefer to stay closer to 8,000-9,000 miles with any conventional. Working great with those numbers.

Not at the 24k interval. I still have the filter and plan on sending it out for analysis to see how loaded it was.

I do 10K regularly mostly with M1 oil & filter on the Altima and Toyota. Will do the same with the Accord once I've gone thru a second shorter change.

That is too long with conventional oil even if your daily driving is mostly highway of more than 20-25 miles.

My longest OCI is around 13-14k miles with Mobil 1 0W40 in E430. Longest OCI at around 14-16k miles with various synthetic in LS400

One of those happened MANY miles ago and the vehicle is still going just fine too close to 300,000 miles.

Better not let the engine know!

I normally don't go that long but stuff happens and I could not get to it when I needed to. No damage WAS done so it is what it was.

Take care, Bill

PS: I WISH I had only 20-25 mile commute. The engine is just getting up to temp and still has many more miles to go one way each day.

The current OCI will be the longest I've ever gone in 30 years of driving (14k). I decided to keep the oil in until 270k to change the oil every "10k" on the odometer. Oil selection, filter and makeup oil makes this a low risk one time event. Its old so I won't lose any sleep if something happens.

This has been my problem as well. I also think a part of it is the fact that I like changing my oil as an activity and the warm fuzzies that fresh oil in the pan gives. Doing 7k to 10k+ oil changes just makes that even worse. When I switched to Pennzoil Ultra, I had to force myself not to change it at 5k, which is still way early for that oil. Lately however, I've been thinking about switching back to conventional (been eyeballing Mobil Super 5000) which will help ease my OCD oil changing habit.

Somehere in the 8000-9000 range with Formula Shell (SM) and Pennzoil (SM). Little longer than I meant to go, just lost track of when the car was due.

Right now I'm staying at 6500-7500 or so, as it seems that is the limit for G-Oil in my car. Once that is gone, I'll probably go with QSUD or PP for yearly changes, which are 7500-10,000 miles.

18.5K in a FX45. Sump was 7 qts and I had been running 15k OCI for most of the life of the vehicle using 5w40 TDT. I had 100k of UOA showing the oil was still good at 15k and got one of those emergency service calls to the right coast (~2500mile round trip). I was already a bit past my change point and couldn't get it in before I left. It used about a qt in the first 10k and was about 3/4qt low when I was ready to leave so I pushed a whole qt in and took off. Actually didn't worry about the oil since I had the qt refresh and it seemed to do fine. Got rid of it at 155k, and it was still doing great on oil.

My '98 Grand Marquis went from 7-1-11 to 6-26-12, 9539 miles on a mix of M1 0W-40 & 5w30EP... Currently on another 1yr change with same, but probably won't see more than 7K mi...

man...I can't see how that can work...diesels soot up oil pretty good. You're a lot braver then I am

12k with the Wrangler, and 10k on the GC, both with Amsoil. UOA said they could go further.
