I've been working down my stash and because of the economy I am going to be staying just one oil change ahead.
I am currently using Rotella 5w-40 in the Jeep Wrangler (2003 w/140,000 miles, 4.0 I6) and it has held up well. (Motorcraft FL1A filter)
The 2005 Highlander is a newer purchase, and I have been running synthetic in it since 32,000 miles (any good filter, 4 cylinder, now approaching 55,000). I have been changing both at 5,000 mile intervals. I am beginning to think maybe the synthetic is overkill, but want to keep 5,000 mile changes. I wonder if 1 qt syn and 3 qts dino for the Totota would be okay for 5,000 miles?

Of course it would be fine as dino can do 5k by itself. You might want to try Motorcraft syn blend or even a high mileage oil. Either way almost any oil will do 5k and synthetic is overkill for that OCI.

5k OCI anything will be good to go.

You don't see really cold weather so a 5w30 SM oil would do you just fine!

As far as the Jeep I LOVE those 4.0l I6 motors. They really seem to love a good 10w30 oil most of the time.

The Rotella is a excellent oil also. I'd prob stay with what brought ya with it.

Take care, Bill
