What's a basic cpu temp gauge?

I've looked and downloaded quite a few temp gauges and they weren't the one i'm looking for.All i need is one that displays cpu temp, not core temp,not process speed.Thanks

IIRC I used to use "Motherboard monitor". Systray showed temp and cycled through if you wanted. Stayed put if you didn't.

Couldn't tell from your post, but have you tried the program "Core Temp"?

It is small, informative, and if you minimize it, it displays in the system tray.

EDIT: Also coretemp is really good too if you have an intel CPU. HWMONITOR shows other stuff as well, fan speeds, voltages, other temps etc.

I've tried coretemp 2 or 3 times but as soon as it's supposed to go on desktop,it takes me to the website. One time it said that it encountered a problem and if i wanted to send error report.

Hwmonitor only shows hdd,battery temps and levels.
