What would you do with a used Grumman LLV?

Finally, I'd like to say a few kind words to the departed Grumman Olson, which Northrup Grumman discarded like a piece of gum stuck to their shoe. I guess for years they had better luck making land based vehicles than Boeing Vertol had making light rail cars. Now that was a freaking disaster.

Here is a nice use for a 1978 Grumman Olson Step Van. Not sure what a French Canadian taco is like, but I'm willing to try almost anything once. Also wondering how they avoided getting sued for trademark infringement. Does Morgan Olson still own the trademark for commercial vehicles like Chevron still owns the regional trademark for Standard?

Strike that. Unfortunately it's permanently closed.

As a kid age 12 in NH I had friend in next town over in Western Maine and the family had field beaters. Basically unroadworthy $100-$400 cars we would race around the field against each other. That truck fits the bill.

If they sell cheap I think they will be the next crown vic. Aftermarket turbo kits, left hand drive conversions, 4wd swaps, some sort of diesel swap, air ride, LS swap there's a lot of possibilities with one. History has shown over and over that almost anything that comes up on the market like this will generate a following. I would love to have one to work out of because of the size.

so... Cleetus needs to buy about 40 of 'em?

is that too short of a wheelbase for a burnout rig?

Splice the frame and body and turn it into a limo. The Grumman LLLLLLLLVVVVVVV.
Curse the jasper reman iron duke with its who knows number of engine swaps it went through.

I do drop-off/pick-ups for a USPS Maintenance Facility since Jasper Reman ships through our freight company. The rack of starter motors and the amount they go through is astounding.

If it was me, LS or Camaro turbo Ecotec swap, 6L90E and maybe a 4WD swap using the front axle of an S-10/Blazer of that era.

So Cyclone power?
If I was able to find the Cyclone’s 4.3L turbo engine it would be in essence a Cyclone. But, turns out GM’s new 2.7L I4 TGDI LB3 makes 310hp/348ft-lbs - close to that 1990s era turbo 4.3.

The LTG 2.0L I was referring to makes 275hp/295ft-lbs.

I did notice that the guy who put an LS in an LLV had to block out the USPS logos, but he added a couple of Grumman emblems near the doors. The Canada Post trucks had them, but USPS didn't have anything that identified the manufacturer, like how they've removed almost everything from their current Metris vans that identify them as a Mercedes-Benz.

I guess they come in both directions so that the arrow is pointing forward.

I guess it's supposed to be a stylized eagle, like with the classic Grumman logo.

From what I've read they can't really go highway speeds. Many drivers say they've gotten them to 60-65 but it took a while.

I would probably use one around the farm for carrying feed/tools/etc.

If you're a delivery contractor in a city I could see it being useful, but likely they are pretty much worn out by the time they are getting sold..

I got curious about whether or not British mail delivery vehicles were left-hand drive to make it easier to get out on the left. Whaddaya know?
