What to do with my Honda "orphans"

Lost the daughters CRV to an accident 4 weeks ago. Now I have 2 oil filters and some 5w20, 2 qts Z-1 and 1.5 qts of dual pump fluid sitting around. All my vehicles take 5w30. What do you guys usually do with the "orphan" oils?

BTW does anyone really know what "dual pump" fluid is?

Sorry to hear that PT. Hope your daughter and any other passengers are all OK!

1st) The 5W20 can be added to your oil changes 1 or 2 qts at a time. I use 2 qts of 5W20 with 3 qts of 5W30 in my wifes RX-300(which calls for 5W30) for the winter time. No issues.

2nd) Many Honda, Nissan and Subaru vehicles use the same part #'s for oil filters. So if she plans on purchacing another one of these vehicles, your good to go. Even if it's a Honda filter from the dealer. No issues.

3rd) With the Z-1, well, you'll be OK if she purchaces another Honda. Might be able to use it as a Top OFF fluid in other applications. I've used Honda Z-1 and Toyota T-IV in DexIII/Merc applications(GM vehicle) when I've had orphans. No issues.

4th) No, I don't know what duel pump fluid is. Is it for the P/S ? If it is P/S fluid, it can be used in vehicles that use P/S fluid and not ATF for their P/S. I use Honda P/S fluid in a GM P/S unit. Have for 20 years. No issues.

She walked away with a bloody nose from the air bag. Very lucky. The oil I will mix in to my GMC and RX in the winter 1 qt at a time. The filters will sit to see if I get another Honda in the future (likely) Dual pump fluid is the differential fluid. Maybe I can use it in my truck tcase that calls for DexIII. The Z-1 will go to the PS units that call for dexIII.

Honda Dual Pump fluid is specially designed for 4wd Hondas. I wouldn't use that anywhere else.

What type of oil filters are they? Honda A02 OEM?

I wouldn't recommend putting Z1 in anything else other than Honda. Molakule mentioned in the pass that it has some additives that would be too abrasive, but somehow works well for Honda (Zinc?)

You can probably sell it on craigslist or to a friend, and use the money to buy the right fluid instead.

Well my neighbor just bought all the oil & filters for his honda so I am off the hook. He usually doesn't change his oil but for the cheap price he couldn't pass it up. I'm sure he will be asking me to "help" him.

Honda filter uses a M20x1.5 thread. Got a Mazda or Sube? Will fit some Nissan's and Toyota's too.

Mix the 5W-20 w/ some 40wt...
