My last electric bill (mid-June through mid-July) was $90. 2,800 sq. ft. at 80F... I guess I'm doing OK? Always seemed high to me.

$90?????

Holy cow! That seems extremely low to me.

$240.00 per month year round. Averaged usage plan. 100+ year old relatively poorly insulated family farm house. High ceilings, etc. Dallas can be brutal.

I have 9-ft ceilings throughout, and an ~18-ft foyer/living room that seems like a silly design (looks nice, but I'd much rather have a 2nd-floor room in its place). Always wondered how much the high ceilings were costing me vs. normal height.

Our electric bill fluctuates from around $70/month during Spring/Fall to about $100 during Summer/Winter. That's with AC set at 77F when we're home during Summer. 3200 sq ft home with fairly weak insulation, too. I guess energy prices vary from place to place. We average around 13-14 cents per kWh around here, based on total bill amount including all taxes, environmental, and distribution fees.

My electric bill is about $30-40/mo for 10 months from Feb till Nov, 2850 sq-ft house, then about $55-65 for Dec and Jan because of Christmas lights.

$303 over here!!!

I keep mine at 70 if I turn it on and that'll keep the house at around 75 (the thermostat is at a cold place). Usually I only turn it on at 80-85. Above that, we get a black out and I evacuate to work or the near by McDonald's till 10pm.

I really thank the people who said infrastructure and power grid is a waste of money.

Wow! I can't believe some of these electric bills!

$323 last month for a 1600 sq ft house. Good insulation, argon filled double paned windows, attic turbines, heat rejecting tint, solar screens....

And it goes right back up for the month or so that we have winter. Electric heat.

I really thank people who said deregulation would lower our electric rates

we have a little over 3800 sf being air conditioned, set at 78 days and 73 late when we actually sleep.

Modern 18 seer unit keeps my bills under 300 bucks year round, usually about 225-235. We also run pool pumps and tons of fans and dehumidifiers.

70 degrees at night 72 during the day. Highs around 90 outside during the day and lows in the 50's so after around midnight it doesnt run until nearly noon.

85 during the day, 79 at night, never had an electric bill over $100, average is $70 in the summer. AC is a 2 ton, 10 SEER York that's 15 years old.
